Ushijima Nishikigoi has gotten off to a good start to breeding season. After a small sanke and showa hatch, we were able to have a good sized kikusui breeding and a kohaku. We look forward to trying a few more in the next few weeks when space becomes available. Of course with breeding season come buckets and buckets of brine shrimp.

June means breeding season
Last year Ushijima Nishikigoi bred four breeds, kohaku, yamato nishiki, yamabuki goon and kujyaku. This year we are looking to bred some new breeds. We are very happy to announce that our yonsai Showa from Igarashi in Niigata dropped her eggs yesterday. The the two males are from Tanaka of Niigata and Ushijima Nishikigoi (not pictured). We look forward to seeing more of our koi breeding and we will keep you informed.
